Your investment in a memorial tree will help continue the progress of revitalizing our downtown district which is needed now more than ever.

Trees will be trimmed with white lights and a large red bow and will be identified with the name of the honoree, business, or donor names. Each honoree or business will be announced as the memorial trees are illuminated one by one in Central Park, on the evening of November 29th during the Main Street Ottumwa’s Lighting of the Trees Ceremony starting at 5:30pm. The Event will be streamed on FB for those that cannot attend. Trees will remain lit throughout the Holiday Season. The names of the donors and honorees will appear on our web site to thank them for their belief in our downtown.

• In an effort to not overload the circuit, please do not add colored or additional lights to your tree. This causes the lights on other trees to go out.

• You are welcome to provide ornaments on your tree to commemorate your loved one; however, please do not place glass ornaments on your tree. If they fall and get broken, this creates a hazard for the spectators who want to come and enjoy the display in the park.

• If you do provide ornaments, please attach them securely to your tree.

• Putting valuable or important heirlooms on your tree is not advised. Main Street Ottumwa is not responsible for stolen items or ornaments.

• The trees will remain in Central Park until January 4. Your personally belongings will not be saved once the trees are taken down. Please be sure to remove your items before this date.
